Conference Announcement
SMART Animals: Highlighting the contributions from the humanities to cognitive science
We would like to invite you to the Second Amsterdam SMART Cognitive Science Conference, organised by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Amsterdam on 6-8 December 2017, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
We are happy to announce the keynote speakers of the conference: Professor Frans de Waal (Emory University and Utrecht University), Professor Elizabeth Spelke (Harvard University), and Professor Kristin Andrews (York University).
Topics to be addressed at this conference deal with animal cognition in the large sense. Besides the evening lectures, there will be full-day workshops around this theme on all conference days. Please consult the conference webpage for details about the schedule and specific locations.
The conference is free of charge. Due to space limitations, however, you will need to formally register to be allowed in the workshop or lecture rooms. We therefore encourage you to register as soon as possible. The deadline for registration is November 15th. You can find the link to the registration form here.
SMART is an acronym for Speech & language, Music, Art, Reasoning & Thought. We organize lectures, conferences, and discussions to highlight the important contributions to cognitive science from the humanities.
