30 January 2017, Visit of Language and Interaction Consortium
On Monday 30 January, 30-60 researchers from the Language and Interaction consortium will visit ILLC. Language in Interaction is a so-called 'Gravity Program' from NWO, and brings together a great group of researchers from the Radboud University, The Max Planck Institute in Nijmegen, ILLC and various other Dutch universities, who all work on the foundations of natural language, from various angles. Since a lot of the research in our institute is connected to language in one way or another, this is a great opportunity to show what is going on here. As part of the program, we are organizing a small ‘tour of the ILLC’, for which we need your help!
Please contact Sara (s.f.veldhoen at uva.nl) if you can contribute an hour of your time with one the following:
- Demos
Anything from an existing Powerpoint or Prezi presentation to a live demo of a working system (e.g. a translation system or parser), or a visualization/ analysis of a model or system. - Posters
You are very much encouraged to present your existing posters (or an updated version). - Talks
Short talks that convey the diversity and interdisciplinary nature of language research in our institute.
Note that we are not looking for elaborate, highly technical contributions. Rather, we would like to provide an accessible peek into ILLC research.
All of this will take place on Monday 30 January, from 15:00 to 16:00, in the ILLC seminar room, the postdoc and phd meeting room, the corridor on the 2nd floor, and (t.b.c.) the guest room.
