5 November 2013, Logic Tea, Luca Spada
Abstract
I will give a brief account of the contemporary research on many-valued logics. The major part of the talk will be accessible to all researchers with an interest in logic (meant in a board sense). The audience will be guided through the starting ideas from which modern many-valued logic stems and introduced to the main philosophical and mathematical open problems. The last part of the talk will focus on Łukasiewicz logic and techniques employed in its investigation.
